Shaped windows are great for breaking up the monotony of square lines around your home – creating a stunning focal point. But having an irregular shaped window requires something a bit more unique than traditional off-the-shelf coverings, such as curtains, blinds or drapes.
Here at horizon shutters, we can design and fit shutters to any size or shape with our made to measure service, no matter how unusual or awkward the shape of your windows. Our shaped shutters for arched windows or any other, accentuate the shape of your windows, rather than concealing it. Every curve and line is highlighted in a way that simply isn’t possible with off-the-shelf blinds or curtains
As well as being made to fit perfectly into the window shape, arched window shutters, for instance, will include specially designed louvres that allow you to control how much light enters the room. You can tilt the louvres to let more light in or to add more privacy – depending on your mood or the time of day.
Aside from adding privacy and light, shaped shutters can help to insulate your home – keeping your heat and energy bills to a minimum. In the summer they provide shade from the sun’s glare and keep the room cool, whilst in the winter, they prevent heat from escaping through the glass – for a warmer, snug feel.

The shutters are excellent quality and the advice we were given when choosing the design and function has given us exactly what we wanted and actually I’m even more pleased than I thought I’d be. The advice was realistic and aimed at longevity and managed expectations. The company has been flexible with some of our renovations delaying one of the windows progressing. The installation guys were really polite and professional and courteous of our home and furry children. They installed the office ones first so my partner could carry on working in there as soon as possible and minimising the impact of the work. They were tidy and quick with a great result, they ensured we were advised on how long to wait to ensure things dried for the best outcome. I received a call that evening to check everything and ensure the information was provided. How it works
- Contact: arrange for one of our surveyors to visit your home by contacting our office via phone, whatsapp or submitting an online form. alternatively you can visit our showroom to discuss your requirements and book a visit from us
- Survey/design: our surveyor will visit your home to talk you through our products, measure your windows and even give you a quote on the day
- Order: once you are happy with design and price, our office will arrange for your deposit to be taken, before submitting your order to our factory to begin production
- Installation date: once your shutters are nearly ready to be installed, our office will contact you to arrange a suitable date/time with you and talk you through the process on the day.
- Installation: our fitters will visit to carry out the installation, ensuring all shutters are fitted correctly, explaining the operation of your new shutters. Our fitters will also take away all packaging.
- Post installation: our office will call to ensure your installation went smoothly, before taking final payment on your shutters.
FAQ's
With over 15 years’ experience in the plantation shutter market, we have seen numerous different shaped and styled windows, some quite different than others. Whether it be a porthole, arch or triangular window, shutters can be shaped to fit and accentuate your shaped window.
Traditional blinds and curtains often fit square against shaped windows, blocking daylight and hiding the shape of the window.
Shaped window shutters are more expensive than traditional coverings due to the design and manufacture of the bespoke shaped frames and panels.
